The story of the Metlika Wine Cellar begins on November 14, 1909, when our ancestors founded the first Wine Cooperative in Metlika. The wine cellar is one of the most important pillars of the Metlika Agricultural Cooperative, which owns 26 hectares of vineyards with the best location on the Vinomerski slopes and in Vidošiči around the famous church of St. Anne. For the needs of the cellar, they buy grapes from just over 100 members and subcontractors.

The mighty, underground wine cellar invites you to travel through the land of Bela Krajina, among the vineyards and the diligent hands of long generations of winegrowers who have created everything they can today to show the visitor who enters this sensual land.
While walking among the wooden barrels, our experts will present you a wonderful story about the creation of wine, which is trapped in the cobwebs of the past. We offer visitors professionally guided tours of the cellar with a tasting of our wines, where, as true people of Bela krajina, we are happy to serve you a traditional Bela krajina cake, optionally with cold cuts, lunch or dinner.
